  • First contact via HT and repeater

    Sunday May 31, I was on the way home from church. I
    heard a guy I knew, on the repeater. We talked for
    a couple minutes. As he signed off, a second person
    came on the air, called me by letters.

    The second fellow introduced him self, and I didn't
    recognize his letters. His radio technique seemed
    perfect, to me. I figured he was an old hand, been
    around for years.

    Find out he's also a member of the same amateur radio
    class that I took, and he was (also) using the HT that
    he got through the class.

    What a success, two class grads, using class radios.
    And a pleasure to hear from him.

    Good for you! Now you can begin to collect more equipment and more
    antennas, etc. Just like the rest of us.
