Friday Oct 30 as interesting day for me. I'd signed up
for Pumpkin Patrol (watching bridge over the highway).

The folks who designed my vehicle decided they knew
better than I, when to turn the lights on. If it's
night and I start the motor, all the exernal lights
come on. So, I spent the patrol time with the motor
off. Some thing I remember about set the parking brake
and the lights won't come on. Will try that tonight.

It did get a bit cold, down into the thirties (F).
I considered candle to help provide some heat, but
it was moonlight total darkness out there, and didn't
want to kill my night vision. So, I endured the cold.

Also, the map light is a bit much light for taking notes.
I can see what I'm writing, but can't see any thing outside
the vehicle. Not a huge problem, my eyes readjust later.
Would be nice to have some soft red light.

There were only two incidents. The travelling goodies
vehicle stopped by and brought my luke warm chocolate.
And a concerned citizen stopped by to ask what was I
doing. Guess they didn't notice the two by eight inch
pumpkin patrol logo on my front visor. The one I was
told to display visibly so everyone would know. (snerk).

Good chance to practice my stealth bug out and observe
procedure. Not very stealthy when locals stop by and
    ask what I'm doing.

I had a bit of fun, and plan to go back for tonight,
which might have some action. Of 16 bridges, zero had
reports of kids throwing stuff off the bridge or other
    suspicious activity.

Baofeng UV-5R radios tend to have low transmit volume.
I got reminded of my low audio. Need to talk loud.

For me...... NOT a problem (used to get accused of being to dispatch
radio cars without using the radio :) )
