• Ch. 14 CB handi talkies

At a garage sale, I saw two Ross brand CB
handi talkies. They say they are 11
    transistor. Metal case, plastic carrying
case. Matched set of two. Telescoping
    antenna. Volume and squelch controls.
(Probably on ch. 14). Takes six AA cells,
no signs of serious corrosion in the
    battery packs.

My experience with these, the range is
pathetic, the static is too loud, and
you can shout farther than you can TX
and RX. I didn't spend the ten bucks to
buy them. Did I do right?

If you had a better use for 10 bucks you did right. If you didn't
need them, you did right. If you had tem bucks burning a hole in yout
pocket and needed a set, you could have done worse.

Not really much "need" for CB talkies today thogh with newer radio
    technologt like FRS.

    Yeah you did right man.
Only collectors would buy them. The radios are not even vintage material.
They ARE useless for com as you describe yourself.

It's sad that some equipment is obsolte and not
good for much. Same with horse shoe picks, buggy
    whips, and wick trimmers.

Niche market, but I'm not it.
