Picked up Beck Odelay on vinyl.

Unfortunately this is another example of cramming an hour-long CD onto two sides of one LP and the sound quality is almost that of a Ktel compilation.

Seems to be hit-n-miss with these rereleases. Some pressings that are 2xLP are worth it, others look to be just a record company cashgrab.

I'd heard about the loudness wars affecting "remasters" -- I've compared post-2000s remasters with originals and been left wanting.

I didn't think they'd try to scrimp on audio quality on vinyl, which is
most likely going to be listened to by an audiophile.

I tried explaining to my daughter who grew up with streaming that we
used to have to wait until a song came on the radio then hold the tape
recorder up to the speaker to tape Your Favorite Song. :)
