WC5C is activating a string of Texas Islands the next few weekends.
We need contacts!
http://www.wc5c.org/WC5CClub/Island/tabid/404/Default.aspx for more
details.
This Saturday we'll be 1st Time Activating Goat Island, and hopefully qualifying
the Island during the 1st Activation. We'll dispatch a special
commemorative
QSL card to everyone who helps us with contacts!
We'll try to accomodate Sked requests or you can relay us a QSY
request if
another band suits your location. for sure we'll be on 20 and 0 ssb,
but will
try to cover other modes. I'm not sure how many stations we'll have on
the air,
but at least two.
We get to the Island mainly by canoe and kayak.
Besides remote contacts we hope some of you will post us on the dx
clusters
after working us yourself, so maybe we can satisfy the DX requirement
to Qualify
the Island.
We're going to try to be active 1400UTC to 2200UTC at least, on the
regular
Island frequencies.
We've got this publicized on the eHam.Net calendar, the QRZ calendar,
the
ARRL.Org special event calendar, several Yahoo Groups. Pete's Dx
newsdesk is
going to give us some press, too. Any other ideas for us to get the
word out?
The next few weekends we'll also reactivate Pelican Island, 1st
Activation of
Willow Island, and reactivate Greer Island.
We'll also activate Pelican for the Oct 17 W/VE Island Contest.
Well, looking forward to it, thanks in advance for your help!
