It's been a l-o-n-g time since I have fired up my qrp 10 meter rig. I
didn't hear much, and I'm just wondering what is the status of the band
these days in terms of the sunspot cycle. If I hear that we're in a good
part of the cycle, then I'll presume my rig is in trouble.

    Thanks

We are about as deep into the sunspot minimum as we can get.

The sunspot cycle is about eleven years from peak to peak. The last peak was around the year 2000.

You can listen for skip during the daytime on the Citizen's Band channels to check the propagation. If you hear someone from across the country on CB it means that 10 meters is also open.

Actually, even though we may be at the bottom of the cycle, there has
been some activity on 15 lately. (However slight and tough to get)
