OK, so here's what I'm thinking.
82' wire hung vertically from the top of a large pine tree.
Feed the wire from the bottom.
Feed line is 450 Ohm ladder line.
Tuner is palstar AT5K.
I've never done a vertical before, let alone a very large one such as this. My question is.... How do I hook up at the feed point. Do I take one side of the feed line to the vertical 82' wire and the other to a ground stake? Also, I use a 4:1 balun when using my doublet. Will I need the balun using a vertical?
I was hoping I could run straight to the tuner.
This is supposed to be a 5/8 wave on 40M.
Does anyone have any advice or insight on this?
Thanks in advance,

Although Ernest uses 15meters, it's the same idea and gives you an idea
what to cover.
