• Now that CW is gone there will be more ham to non-ham conflicts.

The code hating losers were too stupid and lazy to learn and use CW,
they're also probably going to be too stupid and lazy to solve TVI
and interference problems with their neigbhors. There will be more
amateur to amateur and amateur to non-amateur conflicts. Hams will look
bad and the FCC will regulate the service more because of all the retards
we let have HF privledges. CQ Breaker, CQ Breaker.

    Welcome to CB everybody.

I don't think the loss of code is going to be a band breaker.
If you want to see a busy morse newsgroup, go join the SKCC group.
    Straight Key Century Club.
I was trying to study for a General ticket but will start out with
Tech. Up to 28 characters on Just Learn Morse Code at 18/24 speed.
Just taking my time. Built some simple radios I fire up into a dummy
load and listen to on a SW.

    Retard,

    You've got to be kidding.

If the experience of the other countries that have done away with the CW requirement is any indication, there will be a boom in new CW operators.

The five WPM test was almost designed to make sure no one would ever
learn code. Now that people are freed from that insanity, they can
learn CW properly - by starting out at 20 or more WPM. They can use
G4FON, Just Learn Morse Code, Super Morse or any other good program.

And if they want to learn American Morse, they can download MorseKOB <http://home.earthlink.net/~n7rz/morse/download.htm>

    or The Instructograph <http://mtc-tw.dyndns.org/files/InstructographFull-v.1.0.zip>.

Or if they want to learn both they can download W4FOK's "The Mill." <http://home.comcast.net/~w4fok/mstr04a_.exe>

As far as lids, they are generally short timers, as they are usually
shunned by the older, more courteous, and considerate ops. And if
they're really bad, Uncle Charlie will get 'em.

Please, Retard, go sell your negativity elsewhere.

    john, n5dwi

Here is an even better idea:

I learned Farnsworth code in 1992. I found that, for some reason, if you
learn Farnsworth, many people find that they can also understand Morse code! Additionally, people who send Farnsworth often can be understood by people trained only in Morse code. This is a little-known secret: Just learn Farnsworth and you can do Morse code.

Farnsworth violates the Morse Code specification. :-)

i am a uk ham ,and the morse test was done away with some 3 years ago i am
99% cw ,and operate mainly dx 20 mtrs ,the countries like ja were code free from 1983 but yet it boasts alot of vy gud cw ops .
Dont rubbish it just yet nobody is asking you to throw away your key .
The sheer number of cw ops who ragchew have declined over the past few years driven from the bands by contest organisers ,who dont understand contests
are also outdated but for the paper chasers who cant send any more than 5nn and progressive numbers with there computers ,and are ignorant to other hams who want to ragchew .
Keep cw alive let me hear you on the bands in cw there is always a good ragchew available 20mtrs most am state side time or afternoon europe time .
As long as there are cw ops with brass to bang ham radio will survive.
