    Hi All

I've setup my new TM-D700A with WinPack software and it works well up to a certain point:

It won't start downloading or uploading.....just hangs.

I do receive all my headers but when I select Auto BBS session, my D-700A connects to the BBS and just get stuck at that point.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Is it possible to fwd a copy of your startup.txt ?

I don't use APRS or the GPS.

Tnx and Best Wishes For 2006 !

    Hello,

Do you really want to use winpack?
By the way, do you use Winpack directly or via AGWPE?

You can also run Paxon or WPP with Flex32 in kiss mode; the internal TNC can
be managed as a computer connected to the COM port.

    Downloads on:

    http://www.paxon.de/
    http://wpp.dc6hb.de/
http://f4dyx.free.fr/ (for the editable kissinit files preset for 1k2 and
9k6 and an old version of Paxon)

    Hello,

I must tell a little bit more:
Paxon is optimised for non FBB boxes but is more convenient and easy to use when you want to send files and mails. Whereas WPP gets a message list
(same system as Winpack) and so it can be used to easily download messages
and files from FBB and non FBB boxes.

Personnaly, I use both at the same time running with no problem with Flex32
and either the soundmodem driver and a TNC2-multi.

Sending messages and files with Paxon on FBB boxes is no problem when you
edit some sending command lines (sending command with path and title
without lifetime on two lines for example).

Auto7+ and autoBIN enc/decoding can be added to WPP when installing 7+ and BINsplit2.00 programs. With Paxon the DIDADIT (sort of YAPP) and
autoBINsplit modes are embedded, and I use Win7+ 2.17 to create and manage
    7+ files.

The DOS version of 7+ is quite available on most BBS. BinSplit (BS2.00) and Win7+ should be on many BBS too, but you will probably have to look also on
the Flexnet or AGWPE homepages or elsewhere, as I sent BS and Win7+ for
several years now over the packet net in 7+ format.

WPP is also attractive because it has basic APRS abilities and you can run
it with a DXCluster decoding utility programm (DXCCONV). WPP has also a
remote access mode: when running on two computers on a LAN you can access
to your packet station over the second computer and the two packet programs
are synchronised. But I didn't test this last functionnality.
