• Packet on L.I. or southern CT?

Can anyone advise as to the existence (or lack thereof) of packet operation
on Long Island or southern Connecticut? I would still like to receive
related info. should my ISP provider go down, but it would appear as though packet radio is completely dead in this area!

On what area of Long Island are you looking for a node??

I'm not sure if NY2S still runs his setup on 145.030 ??
You can try tuning in around the upper 144's to low 145's and see what
you can pickup with your TNC.

I've been away from packet for about 10yrs now. I used to run a Jnos
node on 145.070 under my old callsign.

There's alot of packet in this area. Western LI and NYC set it to monitor
and listen to 145.050 - still one of the busiest packet freqs I've ever
heard, save 144.39. Try this http://www.northeastflexnet.org/ and click on the destination list. Look for what's closest. I hear several stations in the New Haven area and once and awhile the Shelton station here on the South Shore of the Island. It may not be as robust as it once was, but it's still alive in this region...
