• Plans this holiday weekend?

From CJ@954:100/61 to All on Wed Jan 14 00:01:27 2026
Anyone planning on camping this weekend? I'm heading up to Manatee Springs on Friday. Just in time for a drop in temps! Supposed to get down to the low to mid 30's at night. Great weather for a campfire. :)

No camping, but we are on a cruise ship now. Our first stop was Grand Cayman. We
have been there twice already. The first time was about 15 years ago. That first time,
we visited Hell (yes, there is an area called Hell). I remember someone dressed in a
devil's outfit. He used the word Hell in many ways like: How the hell are you, what the
hell do you want. On this trip, that same individual was dressed as the devil, but he was
much calmer now. He's 91 yoa, but still going strong.

We visited Belize today. We have been there before as well, but this time we took a
'train' (really a tram) through the city. The trip was slow, so the tour guide was able to
talk a lot about the city. Very informative, a very good tour.

We have 2 more stops in Mexico in the next couple of days.

I have always said that if we didn't own a motorhome that we would cruise more. 1
more cruise and we will be Emerald on Royal Caribbean.

Wow! 91 and still at it! Good for him. I'll bet he's a character to be around.

One of the first cruises I went on, we went to Belize. I thought it was a pretty cool place to visit. Wouldn't mind going back.

I have always said that if we didn't own a motorhome that we would cruise more. 1 more cruise and we will be Emerald on Royal Caribbean.

The last cruise I went on, we were on the Allure of the Seas. Got sick as a dog and spent the last two days in the cabin. Allure was too big for me. I prefer the smaller ships. My first cruise was on the Enchantment of the Seas...about 2,200 people vs. the 6,000 on Allure. Not my idea of a vacation. I like to take a vacation to get away from people, not trap myself on a ship overrun with them. :) If I were to go again, I would definately go for the smaller one. The staff seem so much more attentive.

I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your cruise!

There are pictures of him standing on the sharp coral rock (similar to lava) located to the rear of the building. This area is fenced off because of the danger of severe injury if you try to walk it. He is a character <g>

2,200 is roughly the capacity of this ship as well. Smaller IS better, especially when you have to walk the distance from bow to stern. The food is excellent as well as the wait staff.

This is also a way for my wife and I to meet up with my daughter and her husband every January to celebrate her birthday (although she refers to it as her birth month since she expects to be treated royally every day in January).
