• Rascal problem

Doesn't look a whole lot of activity here, but will try it anyway.

I am using (or trying to use) a Rascal interface with my Icom 706 (original model, not the Mk II). My Rascal is connected with the FJ-45 cable.

People on the other end tell me they can hear a loud background sound, described as something like a highspeed fan. Another ham described it as a chainsaw. Never having heard it, that's the best I can do for a
    description.

The sound is present whether I plub in to the back or the front, and stays present when I plug a mike into the unused jack and operate voice.

    Any ideas?

TIA and 73 de Bill, K1NIT

    Hi Bill,
I don't know if anyone ever replied to you about that problem.
And I just came across it today.
The better place to input the DATA signals is in the 13 Pin ACC socket.
Its on all the range of 706 rigs. But they did add a 6 pin mini din to the
    G.

It maybe that the cable you have going into the Mike sockets front and rear
    is
    not screened.
So maybe picking up some AC source.
I have quite a lot of experience in this.
I wont print my web page addy.
Just do a Google on my call.

    Cheers de Johnny G3LIV
